There are a ton of restaurants in St. Pete and so many of them have really good food. Since the point of this blog is to tell you a little bit about all of my favorite restaurants, I have to highlight the favorite parts of my favorite restaurants. The local restaurant chain Acropolis has the most relaxing atmosphere to hang out and spend time with friends. Besides the few times a day their waitstaff gets together holding hands dancing through the restaurant throwing napkins, yelling OPA!! and breaking plates, this restaurant takes the cake for places I would pick for a relaxing evening with family and friends.
A big reason why I like this restaurant is their hookah service. As long as you have a seat outside, you can enjoy a hookah with or after your meal. I got started with this social tradition when I lived in Germany where it is an extremely popular thing to do with friends. Nothing like smoking some flavored tobacco and passing around the hose to your friends to keep the conversation going. This coupled with some great greek food and a friendly wait staff make for a really fun environment.
I have to give a shoutout to their staff. Every time I’ve been here our servers have been either extremely professional or just the type of people that make sure we have a fun night. They have some pretty great specials including all day two for one margaritas and sangrias and also a happy hour from 3-7 with half off select beers, house wines and well drinks. They also do have off wine on Wednesdays and $5 martini Mondays. That’s a lot of specials, are you taking notes??? They even have a belly dancer come through on the weekends which makes for some great live entertainment.

Their menu is great for anything from a small bite to eat to a big dinner outing. They have some tasty hummus and other greek specialties and they also serve huge platters of delicious food to share as a group. I come here a lot because I can always find something that’s relatively healthy and fairly priced.
Located right on the 500 block of Central Ave with an upstairs balcony and downstairs patio, Acropolis is a perfect place to relax and do some people watching in Downtown St. Pete. When I have friends or family come visit, I often take them here on their first night to set the tone for their St. Pete experience. Be sure to let me know how you like it!
