St Petersburg, Florida was established in 1886. It has since gone through dramatic changes but interestingly enough, the most dramatic changes have happened in the past 10 years. Once known as a sleepy town for retirement folks, St Pete is now thriving with many of the local establishments geared towards a younger crowd.
Walking around Downtown St Pete, you will notice many local art shops, craft beer breweries and a ton of new construction including condos, town homes and apartments. Downtown is the place to be, but if you’re not ready for the steep prices in order to live Downtown, there are plenty of affordable options to live in the surrounding neighborhoods.
There is always something going on in St Petersburg, FL. In fact, there is so much going on that it’s hard to keep up. Anytime you take a stroll through downtown you’re likely to see events happening in the waterfront parks, art exhibits and eclectic local shops and of course people enjoying food and drinks at the many restaurants and bars with outside seating.
The St Petersburg culture is rapidly evolving and is already considered by many as a premiere destination to live and travel to. There’s also a wide variety of different style St Petersburg neighborhoods, making it a very popular location for people to move to.
St Pete covers the south end of Pinellas County. Downtown St Pete is located on beautiful waterfront facing the protected waters of Tampa Bay. There are many neighborhoods in St Pete, all of them with their own special flair.
