Dunedin Florida (pronounced DONE-EE-DIN) has a rich Scottish history.  Dunedin is the gaelic translation for the capital of Scotland – Edinburgh.

Scottish settlers in the 19th century made this beautiful town their home and ever since, you can still hear bagpipes being played and see people wearing kilts throughout the city from time to time.

Nicknamed the Scottish town, it has a European charm to it with lots of boutique restaurants, stores, galleries, and eateries.

It’s also a popular pit stop for bikers and runners because Pinellas Trail (a 38 mile path) cuts through downtown at the Old Dunedin Train Depot.

Not only does Dunedin feature a bustling downtown, it’s home to highly celebrated and loved state parks.  Honey Moon Island – The #1 State Park In Florida (which also has a very popular dog beach), and Caladesi Island which has been named among the top beaches in America.

Dunedin, FL is located just north of Clearwater Beach with easy access to US-Highway 19 and Alternate 19.  Bigger cities such as Clearwater, Tampa, and St Petersburg are a smooth commute from Dunedin making this city even more ideal to live in.
