Midtown is almost what Kenwood was 15 years ago. Kenwood was a run down neighborhood with a lot of potential. There was lots of homes built in the 1920's that had fallen into disrepair and many low income people that lived there. The area was still gorgeous - brick streets, beautiful trees and other foliage providing shade to the neighborhood. Kenwood was revitalized and now is one of the most desirable places to live in St. Pete. Homes routinely go for 250k-500k in the Kenwood neighborhood.

Midtown is still a bit in disrepair however there are signs that it's on the up and up. This area is filled with similar features as Kenwood - Brick streets and historic homes. One thing Midtown has going for it that Kenwood does not;  Midtown is within close proximity to Downtown St. Pete.  Less than a half a mile away in Downtown, it is hard to find anything for under 300k. Currently in Midtown in 2017, the majority of the homes are being sold for under 100k.

Could Midtown become the next Kenwood? I believe it's possible and that it's only a matter of time. There is only so much space in Pinellas County and currently the trend is anything that touches Downtown turns to gold. I believe many people will be regretting not investing in this neighborhood 10 years from now.
